Origin

Jin Jun Mei tea is a type of black tea that belongs to the branch of Lapsang Souchong tea. It originated in Tongmu Village, Wuyishan City, Fujian Province. Jin Jun Mei was developed in 2005 through innovation and integration by a team led by Jiang Yuanxun, the 24th generation inheritor of Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong red tea, based on traditional craftsmanship.

Jin Jun Mei is a handmade black tea that is produced entirely by tea masters. It takes tens of thousands of fresh tea buds to make just 500 grams of Jin Jun Mei, which are picked from high-altitude, native bushes in the Wuyishan Nature Reserve. The tea goes through a series of complex processing steps, including withering, shaking, fermentation, rolling, and twisting, before it is finished. Jin Jun Mei is a rare and precious tea, with small and tight tea leaves that are accompanied by golden tea fuzz. The tea has a golden hue and a refreshing sweetness when consumed.

How to Brew Jinjunmei Black Tea

Using GaiWan

To get the most out of your BESTLEAFTEA Jinjunmei Black Tea, it's important to brew it correctly. Here are some tips to help you brew the perfect cup:

  1. Preheat your gaiwan by pouring hot water into it and then pouring the water out.

  2. Add about 5 grams of Jinjunmei Black Tea leaves to your gaiwan, or adjust the amount to your personal preference.

  3. Rinse the tea leaves by adding hot water to the gaiwan and immediately pouring it out. This helps to remove any dust or impurities and to awaken the tea leaves.

  4. Add hot water to the gaiwan, filling it about 1/3 full, and let the tea leaves steep for about 5-10 seconds.

  5. Using the lid of the gaiwan as a strainer, pour the brewed tea into a small cup.

  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5, gradually increasing the steeping time with each subsequent brew. Jinjunmei Black Tea can typically be brewed 3-5 times, with each brew yielding a slightly different flavor profile.

  7. Enjoy your Jinjunmei Black Tea, savoring its rich, full-bodied flavor and aroma.

Using Teapot:

  1. Preheat your teapot by pouring hot water into it and then pouring the water out.

  2. Add about 5 grams of Jinjunmei Black Tea leaves to your teapot , or adjust the amount to your personal preference.

  3. Add hot water to the teapot, f let the tea leaves steep for about 20 seconds.

  4. Enjoy your Jinjunmei Black Tea, savoring its rich, full-bodied flavor and aroma.
